We know the importance of having the right equipment to undertake the job at hand which is why we have chosen to partner with the NSW State Emergency Service (SES).
Through the inception of this partnership in 2005 O'Brien® supplies SES units with emergency equipment assisting the 230 SES units and 9,000 volunteer members around NSW.
The SES and O'Brien® are working together to ensure that communities receive the urgent help that they need during and immediately following natural disasters and other emergency situations.
SES' major responsibilities are for flood and storm operations. It also provides the majority of general rescue effort in rural NSW. This includes road accident rescue, bush search and rescue and other forms of specialist rescue. The service's trained volunteers rescuers also support NSW's Emergency Services during major disasters.
Our partnership with the SES involves bi-monthly donations of equipment to units of the NSW SES. To date O'Brien® has donated in excess of $200,000 worth of equipment which has been distributed to SES units throughout NSW.
These donations are of a practical nature, consisting of emergency equipment not currently funded by the SES or government allowances.
